THE FARM VISITS YOU

Lessons are presented to enrich science in school classrooms as well as to groups in out of school settings. These are available year round and suitable for groups of children of the same age or of mixed ages.

Pre-School Through 8th Grade
Rock & Roll Ice Cream: Make your own ice cream with an old-fashioned hand-cranked freezer.

Nutrition in Action: Make a healthy snack in the Snack Attack lesson.

Seeds: Learn while planting seeds and create a homemade greenhouse.

Traveling Barnyard: Meet a live chicken and rabbit and learn about how they eat and grow.
Additional programs for Kindergarten through 8th Grade
Nature's Digest, Ecosystems and Owl Pellets: Dissect and reconstruct the contents of an owl pellet and learn about the ecosystem.

Chickens and Eggs: Learn about embryology from Marie, our little feathered friend.

Food, Land and People: Examine how agriculture and environment work together to feed, clothe and house people.

Getting in the Food Mood: Good health starts with what we eat. Learn about nutrition and how food gets from the farm to the table.

Our Genes Make Us Unique: Although we all share common physical characteristics, understand how everyone is unique.

The 4-H Education Center at Auerfarm offers year-round as well as season programs for youths of all ages.
