ABOUT AUER FARM

STAFF OF THE 4-H EDUCATION CENTER AT AUER FARM

Our Staff are:
  • Certified teachers skilled in outreach education
  • Trained in science methods by the Institute on Inquiry Science
  • Trained in Embedded Science Tasks by the Department of Education
  • Trained and approved to teach the use of the following national curricula for teachers which include science as well as math, social studies and writing skills for grades preschool through 8th grade:
    • Food, Land and People
    • Food Mood
    • Integrated Pest Management for kindergarten and first grade
    • Integrated Pest Management for and seventh and eighth grades
    • Fields of Genes
  • Experienced in working with:
    • Senior Citizens
    • Students With Special Needs
    • Service Learning
    • Student Interns
    • Student Research Projects
    • International staff
The 4-H Education Center at Auer Farm is a valuable resource to the communities in the Greater Hartford area. In addition to our science program for school students we invite individuals and family members to come and informally enjoy the Center throughout the year.
