The 4-H Education Center at Auerfarm has been in existence since 1976 and continues to encourage and empower children ages 8 - 18 to become leaders through hands-on learning and skill building. At Auerfarm, 4-H participants build meaningful lifelong connections with farm animals, the surrounding environment and their peers and mentors.
4‑H programs are grounded in the belief that kids learn best by doing. Club members complete hands-on projects in areas such as science, health, agriculture and citizenship, in a positive environment where they receive guidance from Auerfarm staff and volunteer parent mentors and are encouraged to take on proactive leadership roles. Kids can concentrate on one focus area or they can try a variety of programs throughout their 4‑H experience.
They will have the opportunity to exhibit their year long project at the statewide 4-H Fair each August and compete in other CT fairs. The 4-H Club also participates in one or more group community service activities each year, building team cohesiveness and ownership of their community.
If you or your child is interested in being part of 4-H and would like more information, please complete the form at the bottom of this page.
